Hans Peter ils
Leading Value Chain Decarbonization and Insetting, VNV
Peter is an expert in value chain decarbonization, Scope 3 strategy, and insetting, with a background spanning supply chain management, transformation, and supplier sustainability. His work connects corporate climate targets with the operational realities of agricultural supply chains, turning climate commitments into practical field-level interventions in complex smallholder systems. At Value Network Ventures (VNV), Peter leads the strategy and implementation of insetting and value chain decarbonization programs that help companies reduce Scope 3 emissions through supplier engagement, insetting, and value chain interventions. His expertise spans GHG accounting, SBTi-aligned decarbonization strategy, supplier sustainability, and the design of programs that combine measurable climate outcomes with biodiversity and livelihood benefits. He supports companies in moving from Scope 3 target-setting to execution by embedding climate action into sourcing models, supplier programs, and smallholder interventions that generate measurable emissions impact and strengthen supply chain resilience. Peter holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management and an M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management – Energy and Resource Management.
