Online conference on CO2 reduction up to the supply chain – Climate Transformation Summit enters third round
03/18/2022- Combined expertise on the climate transformation of the economy: The Climate Transformation Summit will take place for the third time on June 2nd and 3rd, 2022.
- The focus is on decarbonising the supply chain: 90% of a company’s emissions typically occur in Scope 3
- In interactive panels, workshops and an online fair, the latest knowledge from politics and science will be put into practice together with sustainability officers, procurement leaders and decision-makers
Berlin, March 18th, 2022 – The two-day Climate Transformation Summit 2022 (#CTS2022) on June 2nd and 3rd 2022 is a 100% online climate conference that promotes the cross-sectoral transfer of knowledge on the decarbonisation of companies and their supply chains. International climate experts such as Dr. Stefan Rahmstorf (Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research), Fiona Macklin (UN Race to Zero Campaign), Dr. Jonathan Foley (Project Drawdown) and Dr. Martin Bethke (WWF) will share their expertise and meet practical experts from Siemens, SAP, IBM, Schneider Electric, Funke Mediengruppe, O2 Telefónica, Vodafone, Nestlé, HiPP and Katjes, among others. The summit is organised by The Climate Choice, the B2B software platform for decarbonising companies and their supply chains, with the support of B.A.U.M. e. V.
How can climate targets be implemented through massive CO2 reduction, transparent cooperation and intelligent business decisions?
The CLIMATE community, consisting of experts from politics and science as well as decision-makers and interested parties from companies, will get to the bottom of this question. In interactive panels, workshops and an online fair, all participants will discuss the current challenges together with over 50 speakers, workshop hosts and exhibitors in order to jointly design best practices for CO2 reduction – transparently and at eye level. The goal is both interdisciplinary exchange and future-oriented cooperation beyond the confines of one’s own company. Because the urgently needed implementation of climate goals can only be realised together in the remaining short time window.
The multi-perspective summit enables an uncomplicated start and shows in a practical way which steps are important now for the decarbonisation of the economy – right into the supply chain. In addition to practical CO2 reduction measures, the focus is also on preparing for upcoming reporting obligations and the use of digital tools for intelligent climate-relevant data management. Climate officers, decision-makers and purchasing managers will work together across departmental boundaries on these central issues of climate transformation. To this end, the first day (June 2nd) lays the foundation for all participants and offers deep insights into the pervasive climate transformation, while the second day (June 3rd) focuses on the specific challenges as well as current best practices of supply chain decarbonisation.
Lara Obst, Co-Founder and CEO of The Climate Choice, explains: “Climate transformation can only succeed together: Through effective reduction of CO₂ emissions. Since these are mainly in the supply chain, it is important to start here in order to minimise climate risks and take advantage of opportunities. At #CTS2022, we therefore want to find out together how companies along the value chain can transparently collect and exchange climate-relevant data up to Scope 3 and manage it through collaboration and digital tools.”
The entire summit will take place live and in English as a digital climate summit for practice.
